National Stalking Awareness Month January 2022

Join the Title IX Compliance Office for National Stalking Awareness Month during January. It is estimated that 6 to 7.5 million people are stalked in a one-year period in the United States. During the month of January, Title IX Compliance Office will offer a variety of activities and useful resources that promotes safety, support, and awareness about stalking.

There are various events scheduled throughout the month that will provide infinite information and resources about stalking. Listed below are useful resources about Stalking for you to review. Stalking is an illegal act that can be punishable with a prison sentence. HSC defines stalking as “a course of conduct directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to fear for his or her safety or the safety of others, or suffer substantial emotional distress”. HSC strives to maintain a safe and respectful work and educational environment that is free of prohibited conduct such as stalking. Listed below are various on-campus resources that you can click on to learn about how to report acts of stalking and other sources support.

 

There are several local community resources that assist individuals who are experiencing acts of stalking. Three of those resources are listed below for you to click on and learn more about the services they offer.
