I am proud to lead UNTHSC. Many of you know that I graduated from TCOM in 1981, and I have the honor of being the first alumnus to serve as President of this university. Like so many other alums, I have a strong desire to give back.
Alumni are among UNTHSC’s greatest ambassadors. They strengthen our brand in the community, establish life-long learning connections, and mentor and advise our providers of the future. Alumni are UNTHSC advocates, leaders, volunteers and donors.
Our alumni include Drs. Witold, Henri and Alexandre Migala, whose global adventures are making the world a healthier place. They were highlighted in the April issue of Solutions magazine.
Dr. TeCora Ballom rose to become U.S. Assistant Surgeon General and returned to inspire incoming students at our White Coat Ceremony.
Dr. Jeff Beeson not only leads the transformation of UNT Health but regularly volunteers his time to participate in student roundtables, community events and more.
The list goes on, but these examples illustrate the wealth of talents our alumni offer. In recent years, UNTHSC has made a priority of enhancing engagement with alumni and building a sense of community among current students, which lays the foundation for meaningful future relationships.
There are many signs of progress:
Our success is powered by a shared commitment to our values and creating a sustainable people culture that fortifies our bond. Together, we’re creating a people-first culture that inspires a lifelong connection to UNTHSC, unbound by time or distance.
I appreciate all that you do.
Dr. Michael R. Williams
