Tarrant County Hospital District dba John Peter Smith (JPS) Health Network (JPS) is tax-supported and includes John Peter Smith Hospital, JPS Surgical Center of Arlington, a network of community-based health centers, school-based health clinics and psychiatric services at a stand alone JPS facility and a Level l Trauma Center. John Peter Smith Hospital is licensed for 537 beds and the Network as a whole have over one million patient encounters per year. JPS has a Level lll NICU where more than 5000 babies are born each year. JPS is also a certified Chest Pain Center, Certified Stroke Center and Accredited American College of Surgery Cancer Center.
