Rachel Nyetam is a current doctoral student at the University of North Texas (UNT) specializing in vocal performance with a minor in vocal pedagogy. An experienced educatory, Mrs. Nyetam has worked as an adjunct professor at Trevecca and Belmont University in addition to her current role as a Teaching Fellow at UNT.
As a performer, mezzo soprano, Mrs. Nyetam has enjoyed several opportunities to perform in recital and in opera. She sang for five seasons with the Nashville opera chorus in addition to her role in the Premier of Eric C.E. Wilson’s Eighteen Sonnets of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
Mrs. Nyetam’s greatest area of interest is in promoting research within the vocal health area. Her current research is focused on the efficient transfer of vocal health concepts into the public-school choral classroom as mandated by the Texas Education Agency according to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills standards (TEKS).
