“With the dynamic growth of our profession came new challenges in teaching as illustrated by John Harakal, advocate of osteopathy’s many advancements in comprehensive health care.”
– TCOM Practices for the Future – 1980
The success of our mission to provide quality education and training for future osteopathic physicians relies substantially on a united professional family and dedicated supporters with a passion for osteopathic medicine. It is in support of this mission that the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine has established an endowment fund in honor of John Harakal, DO, founding chair of the department.
Contributions to this fund will be used exclusively to support the expanding educational and research activities of the department of OMM and the long-term sustainability of its programs. Only the interest earned by investments received will be used annually, leaving the corpus of the endowment to fund programs in perpetuity.
Dr. Harakal’s 15-plus years of service will be remembered by many, but through funding from dedicated supporters who believe in the principles, philosophy, and practice of osteopathy his legacy will be everlasting.
