In addition to the finest general internal medicine services available in the county and surrounding region, patients benefit from our physicians’ involvement in the UNT Health Physician Group, the area’s largest multi-specialty group practice that also boasts an impressive internal medicine group of more than 35 specialists and subspecialists. The General Medicine Division is also one of 10 divisions in the Department of Medicine for the Physicians & Surgeons Medical Group.

Health care provisions include:

  • Preventive medicine screening care (mammograms, cholesterol, blood pressure, colorectal evaluations, etc.)
  • Care of patients with undefined symptoms and complaints (shortness of breath, chest pain, abdominal pain, back pain, etc.) who are seeking a physician’s help in diagnosing their illness and managing their care.
  • Care of patients with chronic medical illnesses (high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, emphysema, etc.) throughout the various stages of their illness.

Our general medicine physicians provide primary care to some patients and secondary care, working with another primary care physician, to other patients. Our physicians are often involved in integrating the care plans of several physicians to tailor the care plan of the individual patient. They work closely with the patient’s primary care physician, surgeons or other internal medicine subspecialists to ensure all care issues necessary for keeping patients healthy or managing difficult medical problems are addressed.
