Hometown: Allen, TX

Medical School: Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM)

About me: I am a Texas native, who was granted the opportunity to state in-state for both college and medical school. As a first-generation Asian American, I always found it difficult to connect with others around me, and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to care for so many people from diverse backgrounds. I am fortunate to have support from my wife, who is a civil engineer (and is honestly smarter than me), my parents and my younger brother.

Medical interests: Full spectrum primary care, care for older adults, care for children, osteopathic manipulative medicine, sports medicine, academia and medical education

Personal interests: Sports (college football, UT, hook ’em!), music, horror movies, legos, hanging out with my cats.

Why MCFW Family Medicine: I appreciated the continuity of education from medical school to residency, working with many familiar faculty.  The Medical City family medicine residency also embodied everything that I wanted from a supportive and nurturing resident body. The program respects us individually and acts to support our individualized training.

Career goals: Ultimately, I want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of my patients, whether in inpatient, outpatient, or academic settings. I am also committed to contributing to family medicine through research and teaching, focusing on improving healthcare delivery and outcomes for diverse populations.

Hometown: Frisco, Texas

About me: Hi, I’m Zara one of the family medicine residents at Medical City in Fort Worth. I went to college at the University of Texas in Austin for my undergrad degree of biochemistry. This is where I became passionate in medicine by volunteering at the local hospitals. Through medical school, I worked with the refugee health initiative, where I learned the importance of preventative medicine and chronic disease management. I’m thankful for the time in medical school, as I explored different ways to serve the community, which is why I chose to pursue family medicine.

Why this program: I chose the Family Medicine Residency Program at Medical City Fort Worth because of its comprehensive training in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The program provides abundant opportunities for career development and fosters a learning environment where growth is directly tied to effort and dedication.
