Zachary College Faculty

Dr. John Bowling joined the TCOM faculty 1988 after working in private practice in Ohio.  Active in the development of rural medical education, Dr. Bowling was instrumental in the development of the Rural Scholars Program at TCOM.  In addition to his interest in rural medicine, he is also involved in clinical teaching of medical students and residents on rotation both nationally and internationally.

He is a recipient of the Distinguished Fellow Award from the American College of Osteopathic Physicians and the President’s Award from the Texas Rural Health Association.  Dr. Bowling has also been named to the American Osteopathic Association Mentor Hall of Fame.
