The Rising Leaders Program is a great opportunity for students to take the leadership development sessions that fit into their schedule and their development goals. Rising Leaders is a brown bag lunch program that gives an overview of different foundational leadership topics. Current students will be able to receive a Rising Leaders Certificate if they attend a total of six (6) sessions in the academic year and one (1) Half Day Leadership Intensive either in the Fall or Spring. Leadership Council is a monthly meeting that all Registered Student Organization (RSOs), Classes, and Program Government Associations Officers are invited to attend. Each RSO, Class and Student Government must send at least one (1) representative to the monthly meeting. The meetings are held the third Monday of the month from September thru April. Each year there is a theme and each session relates to that theme and important leadership skills that will help officers in their current roles and beyond. Learn more about Leadership Council.
The UNTHSC Student Leadership Academy is a new leadership program based on Our Values and open to all UNTHSC Students. This leadership program uses a holistic approach to provide a solid foundation in leadership philosophies, skills, and growth through collaboration and learning. AcademyV is an interprofessional student group that is select to facilitate the personal and professional development of student leaders of Registered Student Organizations, Student Governments, and Cohort Classes. No more that two (2) members from each academic program are selected to participate. These students must have been in a previous leadership position or completed a student leadership program to be considered. These members facilitate all Leadership Council Meetings.
