Chad E

Chad

Chad graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience and Biology from Wesleyan University in 2018. Following his first year of Med sci, he will be extending his Master's degree one more year through the Clinical Research Management Track while preparing applications for medical school. Before joining UNTHSC, Chad lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he worked as a Clinic Assistant at a spine surgery center and volunteered at a local international high school as an after-school tutor and teaching assistant. In his free time, Chad enjoys playing basketball with friends and watching movies. He is excited to welcome the new Med sci students on campus and support them throughout their time at UNTHSC! 

Kaelin D

Kaelin

Kaelin is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska. She attended Texas Christian University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Psychology in 2019. While at TCU, Kaelin served as shadowing coordinator for TCU’s Pre-Health Professional honors society. She also spent many years volunteering at Cook Children’s Hospital as a child-life volunteer and worked as a medical scribe at Texas Harris Methodist Hospital’s emergency department in downtown Fort Worth. After graduating from TCU, Kaelin participated in academic research at the University of Nebraska Medical Center Munroe-Meyer Institute. Kaelin very much enjoyed her time in the Medical Science program at UNTHSC and is continuing on in the Clinical Research Management program to complete a research practicum at UT Southwestern Medical Center. While at UNTHSC she has held the position of service coordinator for the Medical Science Community Service Organization (MSCSO). In her free time Kaelin enjoys reading, seeking out new restaurants, and spending time with her miniature dachshund, Kaia. 

Carolyn S

Carolyn

Carolyn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Texas A&M University in 2019. She is a currently finishing up her Master of Science in Medical Sciences here at UNTHSC and applying to medical school this year. Outside of school, Carolyn enjoys to go horseback riding, watch the Bachelor, and spend time with family and friends. As an Orientation Leader this summer, she hopes to be a great resource in regards to being a graduate student in Fort Worth as well as how to manage upcoming classes, applications, and everything else to be successful in the program.

Hanna H

Hanna

Hanna received her Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Lubbock Christian University in 2019 and plans to apply to medical school after completing the Med-Sci program. Prior to beginning this program, she worked as an emergency room scribe in Fort Worth. Her favorite part about being a Med-Sci student was the opportunity for hands on learning in the anatomy lab. She loves trying new coffee shops and watching British TV shows on Netflix. Hanna is looking forward to meeting the incoming Med-Sci class and is ready for any questions you can throw at her!   

Lakecia B

LaKecia

LaKecia is from Tyler, TX and received her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Sam Houston State University way back in May of 2019. Prior to entering the MedSci program LaKecia was very involved in the clinical aspect of Medicine and spent her time working with Neurosurgeons and Pain Management & Rehabilitation Physicians. LaKecia is very passionate about pursing a career in medicine and hopes to one day be a Trauma Surgeon (or a Neurosurgeon if her previous employers have a say). She otherwise enjoys mundane things such as sleeping, roller skating, collecting odd stickers & pins, and spending time with her family and friends when she can. LaKecia is very excited to meet incoming students and be a good resource and mentor for the incoming MedSci class of 2022! 

Tonia

Tonia

Tonia recently received her Master of Science in Medical Science from UNTHSC in May of 2022 and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2019. She will be applying to dental school this upcoming application cycle. Tonia is continually working on becoming a better version of herself with each new day and hopes to inspire others to do the same. One of her goals is to share the wealth of health, knowledge, and compassion with the entire community, especially to those in need. When she is not busy hitting the books, Tonia enjoys taking care of her collection of houseplants, making up songs and nicknames for her cat, and hanging at the dog park with her Akita, Hank. Fun fact: Hank is named after a character from one of Tonia’s favorite TV shows… can you guess what it is? Hint: it’s an animated TV show!

Caroline H

Caroline

Originally from central Texas, Caroline attended Trinity University in San Antonio and graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a second major in German studies. While there, she studied wild birds in a behavioral biology research lab and studied abroad in Germany for a semester. She came to the University of North Texas Health Science Center shortly after to complete her Masters in Medical Science and has been accepted into the Clinical Research Management program. Caroline also volunteers weekly with Heart to Heart Hospice and has enjoyed getting to know the DFW area. In her free time, she enjoys cooking new foods and taking care of her many plants. As an orientation leader, she is excited to talk about her amazing experiences in this program and help incoming students feel prepared for the year!

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Kailee is currently a second-year student at TCOM. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Stephen F. Austin State University. At TCOM, she is a member of the ROME program, President of Gastroenterology Interest group, President of Sports club, Secretary of General Surgery Interest group, and Treasurer for Human Anatomy Society. In her free time, Kailee enjoys grabbing a drink with friends, running/biking the trinity trail, and exploring Fort Worth. She wants to welcome everyone to TCOM and hopes she can be a helpful resource!

Anika

Anika

Anika graduated from Southern Methodist University where she studied Biology and Studio Art. Throughout college, she was a Resident Assistant and worked closely with the orientation program at SMU. After graduating college, she took a year off and scribed for an Ob/Gyn in Dallas. Outside of school, she loves playing volleyball, painting, and exploring restaurants here in Fort Worth. She is extremely excited to welcome y’all to TCOM and hopes to make the transition to medical school a little easier!

Prathyusha

Prathyusha

Prathyusha is a current OMS-II at TCOM.  She received her Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas at Dallas and her Master of Science from UNTHSC.  First and foremost, she gives a big “Welcome and Congrats Class of 2026!”. Prathyusha is passionate about building a great community and her mission is to spend her time at TCOM creating meaningful experiences and memories. She is currently involved as the Class of 2025’s Student Government Secretary, as an Ultrasound TA, as the President of SOMA, as an HSC Next finalist, and more. In her free time, Prathyusha enjoys exploring Fort Worth, trying new cuisines, and spending quality time with her friends, family, and Milo, her Australian Shepherd. Prathyusha is eager to support the incoming TCOM students on their unique journeys here. She knows medical school can be a rollercoaster and encourages students to reach out for support at any time. She is excited to learn alongside all of you and help you achieve your goals here at TCOM!

Jerry

Jerry  received his Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2021 from the University of St. Thomas, a small private catholic liberal arts university in the heart of Houston! Since coming to TCOM he founded his own organization called Arts in Medicine (AiM), which ~ aims ~ (haha, see what he did there) to highlight the beauty and importance that art can have as an avenue for healing. He hopes to bring his passions for art and medicine together and create opportunities that allow for creativity and service!  When Jerry isn’t in the library or studying for the next exam you can find him doodling on his iPad, working out, or hanging out with family and friends. Jerry has absolutely loved his experience so far at TCOM and can’t wait to welcome the class of 2026! Don’t be afraid to reach out if you have any burning questions or just need a listening ear. You’ve made it, be proud of everything you’ve accomplished!

Katie just completed her first year at TCOM. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Southwestern University. Between graduating from college and beginning medical school, Katie worked as a college admission counselor and as the office manager for an outpatient psychiatry practice. Outside of school and work, Katie enjoys running, baking, spending time with her dog, Genevieve, and reading fantasy and detective novels. She is excited to meet and get to know the class of 2026.

Cecilia

Cecilia


Cecilia was born and raised in Houston, TX and received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Minor in Psychology in 2021 at the University of St. Thomas. She is a first-generation Vietnamese American student and the first (upcoming) physician in her family. During her first year at TCOM, she became involved on campus as one of the Class of 2025 Historians (@tcom2025), went on a mission trip with the Christian Medical Association, and is a mentor through the Joint Admission Medical Program. She is passionate about mentorship, especially since it has helped her get into medical school and survive her first year. During her free time, she enjoys weight lifting, hiking, playing ultimate frisbee, photography, and watching cat videos. If you need someone to rant to or someone to cheer you on, she'll be the one! She is excited to meet you all and can't wait to welcome you to the #1 Osteopathic medical school in the country!

Jeff

Jeff

Jeff is a second-year medical student at TCOM. He received his Bachelor of Science in Sonography from Weber State University. Prior to medical school, Jeff worked as a radiologic technologist and sonographer for ten years in Utah and Texas. He occasionally picks up shifts still when school isn’t too crazy. He loves working in the operating room and hopes to become an anesthesiologist. In his free time, Jeff loves mountain biking, lifting weights, and jumping on the tramp with his four kids.

Zoe

Zoe

Zoe is currently an incoming 2nd year TCOM student here at UNTHSC. She received her Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of Wyoming. Between schooling, Zoe has worked as medical scribe and ophthalmic technician. As well, she is passionate about volunteering at summer camps for children with serious illnesses, traveling on medical mission trips, and having been on a Search & Rescue team. As a native Coloradan, Zoe loves to travel to places with unique cultures, hike mountains (or just hills in TX), cooking new foods, exercising, and scuba diving. She hopes to encourage and support all her new TCOM peers as they begin their exciting journeys at TCOM!

Danielle

Danielle

Danielle is a current second year TCOM student and a part of the ROME program. She received her Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor in Belton, Texas. Prior to attending medical school she worked as a Device Clinic Manager at Brazos Heart Rhythm in her home town of College Station. She is passionate about trauma surgery, international medicine, disabilities rights, and serving the underserved. In her free time she enjoys going on hikes (if the weather is right), painting, and visiting her younger siblings. She wants to help ease the transition into medical school and be a support and resource to all incoming students.

Jackie is originally from Temecula, California and graduated from Baylor University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. During her time at Baylor, she played on the soccer team and now continues to live her washed up ex-athlete dream playing for TCOM’s sports club indoor soccer team. Reach out to her if you have an interest in playing! After college, she worked as a medical scribe for various sports medicine orthopedic surgeons and was involved onboarding and training new hires. She hopes to have that same welcoming experience for all of you at TCOM! When she is not studying you can find her exploring new coffee shops, buying yet another plant, and running around with her energetic black lab, Charlie. Choosing TCOM has been an incredible gift and supportive community so far, and she hopes she can help you transition and find your place in this family!

Katelyn

Katelyn is currently the Disability Rights, Education and Activism in Medicine Club President, Pediatrics Club Volunteer Coordinator, American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians National Representative, and Richards College ICC Representative here at TCOM. She received her Bachelor of Science and Arts in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Texas. Prior to her arrival at TCOM, Katelyn worked as a caregiver for children with disabilities, and volunteered at Dell Children’s hospital in Austin. She is passionate about serving others and wants to pursue a career in Pediatrics. In her free time, Katelyn enjoys taking spontaneous road trips, playing with her dog Sadie, and spending time with friends and family. She hopes to be an encouragement and support resource to assist the incoming class in reaching their goals!

Arielle Rodriguez

Arielle is currently a second-year medical student here at TCOM. Before coming to UNTHSC, she got her Bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M, and a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas, with additional certificates in Spanish as well as Bioethics. Originally from Dallas, Arielle is the go-to person to ask about the best DFW coffee shops! When she’s not working part-time at breweries or drinking her fourth cup of coffee, she loves to cuddle up with her Scooby look-alike pup, Cupertino. She is passionate about mentoring, encouraging other minorities in STEM, and getting to be the first doctor in her family. Arielle is very excited to welcome the next generation of TCOM students and will do her best to make them feel right at home!

Lauren is currently a physical therapy student here at UNTHSC.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at North Carolina A&T State University, a Historically Black College and University in Greensboro, NC.  She is passionate about forming interpersonal relationships with people from different backgrounds and engaging with those who are aiming towards their goals and dreams in life. She cares about contributing to others by being a part people’s experiences to help them through new challenges.  In her free time, Lauren enjoys doing anything that involves the arts, such as, drawing, writing, dancing, and crafting.  She hopes to be an inspiration and instrumental resource to assist the incoming class, as she aims to connect with people on a personal level.

Erin is a part of the DPT Class of 2024! She is from Fort Worth, TX and graduated from Texas Tech University in 2020. She is currently interested in Ortho/Outpatient Physical Therapy, and her favorite class so far has been Applied Anatomy & Kinesiology with Dr. Brummet!  Erin looks forward to meeting the incoming class and welcoming them to campus.

Serah

Serah is a PA student at UNTHSC who is currently serving as the PA Student Association Vice President. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Southern Methodist University and her master’s degree in Spanish Language Arts and Culture at the University of Salamanca in Spain.  Prior to UNTHSC, Serah worked as an elementary school teacher. The best part of her life is her wonderful, kind-hearted husband, fun, quick-witted three-year-old, and awesome, clever one-year-old! She loves traveling, playing tennis, writing songs, and playing the guitar. She is super excited about getting the opportunity to get to know the upcoming class. She hopes to be a rock and support for anyone who needs guidance or help along the way. She wants the new PA students to know, “PA school may be one of the toughest things you’ve ever done, but we’re here for you, and you’re not alone.”

Jacob is currently the Treasurer and a student of the Class of 2024’s Physician Assistant Studies program. He has received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Houston. Prior to his arrival at UNTHSC, Jacob worked as an Emergency Department Scribe, research assistant, and STEM tutor. He has a passion for education and wants students to feel at home here at UNTHSC. In his free time, Jacob enjoys weightlifting, traveling, and spending time with friends. He strives to create a welcoming and energetic environment while providing mentorship to assist the incoming class in reaching their goals.

Brandi

 

Brandi

Brandi is a devoted mom to two sons, a full-time physician assistant student at UNTHSC, and a philanthropist in her free time. She holds the following certifications and education: Reserve Police Officer, FWPD, Paramedic, Tactical Paramedic Certification (TP-C), Masters in Criminal Justice Administration, Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Instructor, Master Peace Officer, Vice President, Hallie’s Heroes. Brandi started her career in medicine in 1999 in the United States Army where she became a medic and a nurse. She left the Army after 11 years as a Staff Sergeant. She then worked at the county hospital as a pediatric nurse before going to the police academy in 2007.  She worked as a patrol officer for 3 years before co-creating a class called “Tactical Lifesaver” that teaches self-aid buddy aid to Police Officers in her department and surrounding agencies.  After 14 years as a full-time police officer, Brandi was accepted to physician assistant school. She remains a reserve police officer/tactical medic while attending school full time. In addition to her work and school endeavors, she is honored to serve in an organization called Hallie’s Heroes. Brandi’s ultimate goal is to ensure that all officers have a working knowledge of basic tactical medicine and to take care of children with rare diseases and cancers.

Rene is the current class Activities Chair for the UNTHSC MPAS Class of 2024. She was born and raised in DFW and graduated from the University of North Texas with a B.A. in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Psychology. As the activities chair, she plans social events and outings for the class, because mental breaks are just as important as studying. She loves getting to know her fellow classmates and their families outside of the academic setting! She also enjoys assisting her fellow officers in their duties and responsibilities. When she is not on campus, she enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs.

A Rio Grande Valley native, Dylan received his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas. Before matriculating into UNT System College of Pharmacy, Dylan has worked as a pharmacy technician since 2017. Dylan is passionate about helping fellow students make a smooth transition into the program and start their pharmacy career strong . He hopes to be source of support and guidance on academic success and extracurricular involvement.
Elisha

Elisha

After 3 years of being a Pharmacy Technician, Elisha decided she wanted to pursue her dream of becoming a Pharmacist. She attended 2 years straight of undergrad at University of North Texas to complete her prerequisites for pharmacy school. Elisha is currently completing her P1 year and hopes to become an independent retail pharmacist upon graduating. In her free time, she loves being outdoors, attending farmers markets, and doing arts and crafts. A fun fact about Elisha is that she loves to work in the workshop and build furniture. She is so excited to welcome all the new students to UNTHSC and help guide them along their way!

Alexis is currently a third-year pharmacy student here at UNTHSC. She completed her pre-requisite work at Baylor University. Alongside her studies at UNTHSC, Alexis worked in a private medical office, where she expanded her skills and knowledge in the industry. In her free time, Alexis enjoys traveling, working out, and spending time with family and friends. She hopes to be a welcoming and supportive classmate and resource for the incoming class!

Hunter

Hunter

Hunter is currently finishing up her first year of pharmacy school at UNTHSC and will soon be starting the dual-degree PharmD/MPH program. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education at Baylor University in May of 2021 (sic ‘em bears). Hunter hopes to pursue a career in federal-based pharmacy to make the most out of her dual degree; her goal at this time is to work either for a military hospital, the VA, or the Indian Health Service. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time at the the Trinity Trails; her all time favorite travel spot is Glacier National Park in Montana. Hunter is very excited to meet all the new pharmacy students and cannot wait to guide them on their new adventure at UNTHSC!

Sara graduated from Schreiner University where she studied Biology and Public Health. Throughout college, she was a Resident Assistant and worked closely with the orientation program. Upon graduating, she continued her education and received her Master's degree in Medical Science at UNTHSC. Outside of school, she loves to explore new restaurants in Fort Worth, play tennis and craft! She is so excited to welcome the Class of 2026 and hopes to make everyone's transition to pharmacy school a little bit easier!

KC is currently a second year pharmacy student from Cedar Hill, TX. She graduated in 2016 from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology, #Axe’ Em Jacks! KC has an interest in psychiatric pharmacy and hopes to work for the VA. KC currently works for Tom Thumb/ Albertsons Pharmacy as Pharmacist Intern. KC loves to spend her free time having game nights with friends, working out with her husband (Jordan), and listening to podcasts. She will also most likely be seen wearing pink and green as she is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. KC hopes to be a resource for the incoming class and provide them with the tools they will need to succeed!

Keanna
Keanna is a second year MS in Public Health student here at UNTHS. She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Tennessee State University and is a native of Memphis, TN. While in undergrad she was a peer mentor to freshman students while also being an undergraduate research assistant studying metastatic breast cancer. This drove her passion for research in health disparities. Keanna volunteers as the Social Media Chair for the National Association of LSAMP Alumni. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, binge watching new Netflix series, and roller skating. She hopes to encourage the incoming class and help them as they transition into the school of public health.

Linda
Linda is currently a Public Health Leadership Student in the School of Public Health here at UNTHSC. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Oklahoma. Prior to pursuing her higher-level education, Linda served 8 years in the military as a medic in the Air Force. She is passionate about healthcare, process improvement, and decreasing disparities in healthcare practice. Aspiring to make an impact directly on campus for the better, Linda became an Orientation Leader to help guide and inspire others by engaging with the incoming students and helping to make everyone feel connected and part of the UNTHSC community. Outside of campus, Linda enjoys hiking, spending time with her dogs, and lifting weights. She hopes to be a great resource for the incoming SPH class and a future friend!

Richa is currently enrolled in the Master of Health Administration program here at UNTHSC. She received her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Houston. Richa has been engaged in various student leadership organizations which has influenced her desire to be an orientation leader. During her free time, she enjoys cooking new recipes, re-watching Criminal Minds, and spending time with her family and friends. 

 

Dylan

Dylan (She/Her) is currently a second-year Master of Health Administration (MHA) candidate here at UNTHSC. She spent most of her life in San Antonio, Texas until she moved to College Station, Texas where she attended Texas A&M University and earned her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health. While in school, she worked for a local dentist as a patient coordinator, but quickly grew to be passionate about health management, and implementing change in a healthcare setting. In her free time, Dylan enjoys tv shows, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. She is very grateful to be involved in the School of Public Health as she is serving as President for both the Health Administration Students of America and the Public Health Student Government Association in the 2022-2023 academic year. Dylan is excited about assisting the incoming cohort of MHA students and hopes to be a reliable and positive source to all public health students.

Paapa

Paapa is currently a 3rd year PhD. candidate studying Pharmacology and neuroscience under the tutelage of Dr. Nathalie Sumien . He has a Bpham and MPhil in pharmacology degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. He worked as a community pharmacist and a university lecturer at the University of Health and Allied Science prior to joining UNTHSC. Here at UNTHSC, he has served in various capacities including being elected the president of international students’ association, peer mentor among others. He is passionate about serving and making students comfortable. Playing tennis and video games are his favorite pastime. He hopes to be an inspiration to the incoming class.

Charles is a third-year graduate student in the department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience in the Visual Sciences track at UNTHSC. He holds a Bachelors degree in Pharmacy from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology-Ghana and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Ghana, West Africa. Having worked as a medical liaison for reputable companies in the pharma industry and served as a teaching assistant for 2 years,  He is passionate about mentoring students for leadership roles as well as assisting them navigate around campus and getting settled in.  Away from the lab, Charles enjoys playing the piano and spending time with family and friends.  Charles hopes to help students have an enjoyable time while attaining their goals here at UNTHSC.
