HSC offers an expansive network of services, resources and programs to make your time here meaningful and transformative. The DSAA team is here to help you thrive!

The Office of Admissions and Recruitment serves our five schools by:

Ensuring that HSC values are at the forefront as we recruit and admit a diverse student population that reflects the communities that we serve.

Providing quality professional service to prospective and enrolled students by ensuring effective communication and support of graduate admission policies and standards.

Making the admission process informative, accessible, inclusive and supportive.

Working collaboratively with other Division of Student and Academic Affairs (DSAA) offices to ensure that all prospective and current students receive a quality experience in their introduction to their education, one that will enable them to achieve their personal and educational goals.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive resources, programs, and personal advising that prepare current and former students to be career ready in their respective discipline. This includes helping them identify and achieve present and future career goals and facilitating successful placement into their position of choice.

The Center for Academic Performance (CAP) is committed to helping all HSC students meet their personal and academic goals by providing academic counseling, writing support, peer tutoring, and a variety of workshops.

The Financial Aid Office (FAO) is dedicated to quality customer service and the prompt delivery of aid program funds. Counselors are available to assist in the application process and provide financial literacy programming to ensure that students receive the information needed to make the best decisions regarding their financial aid options. While financial aid is subject to strict federal and state regulations, the staff strives to help students navigate this complex path in a professional and courteous manner.

The International Services Office (ISO) provides immigration and advising services to the diverse UNT Health Science Center campus. The office assists students, scholars, and employment-based visa holders to navigate complex immigration regulations. Through individual consultations, workshops, and written information, the ISO helps over 200 foreign nationals maintain compliance with their individual visa requirements.

Because the Office of Care and Civility (OCC) cares about our students’ well-being, not only academically, but emotionally and physically, we provide services across campus that respond to our students’ unique health and wellness needs. These services include Care Team, the Fitness Center, Be|Well, wellness & prevention programming, the student conduct & pathways programs, the food pantry program, the Student Emergency Fund, and wellness coaching, among others.

The Office of Disability Access is responsible for assisting students with disabilities by providing academic accommodations that will ensure equal access to the curriculum. We retain students’ documentation of their disability(ies) that substantiate a need for accommodations. We also serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and staff to determine the appropriateness of approved accommodations.

The Center for Student Life builds community and develops experiences that encourage and support student success. We provide a range of services, which include coordinating institutional events, planning new student orientation, developing leadership programs, supporting diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, overseeing student governments and organizations and collaborating with campus partners.

The Registrar and Student Records Office manages and maintains the students’ academic records. We are responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and confidentiality of academic records. These services include transcript generation, grade processing, degree certification, the enrollment and registration process of all students, as well as the verification of enrollment, academic standing, and degree completion. The office coordinates reports for internal and external compliance, oversees functions related to Veteran’s Affairs, assists in commencement planning, prepares data for state/federal enrollment and audit reports, coordinates compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and provides data to support the institution’s tactical initiatives.

Testing and Evaluation Services (TES) supports all HSC academic programs’ assessment needs using innovative tools to measure student knowledge and provide valuable feedback to improve the educational experience.

The Title IX Compliance Office advances the University’s mission by promoting a campus environment that upholds the highest standards of integrity, and respect. Our office is responsible for the campus level enforcement of the Title IX Education Amendment Act, and various other federal and state laws. These federal and state laws protect all members of the HSC community from sex-based discrimination, harassment, violence, and abuse.

University Assessment and Accreditation is dedicated to fostering a culture of assessment, continuous quality improvement, and evidence-based decision support. We do this through providing integrated expertise in outcomes assessment, accreditation, and planning & decision support.
