Framework for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at HSC

Dimensions – Core areas of focus for institutional diversity, equity and inclusion efforts

Dimension 1: Campus Climate, Culture and Community

We will develop campus climate that builds upon the HSC Values and Code of Culture where all members experience a sense of belonging, safety and overall well-being that is supported through respectful, authentic and affirming relationships with each other. 

Dimension 2: Access, Equity and Success

 We will transform the ways we recruit, hire, train, evaluate, develop, recognize and/or retain employees, students, alumni and partners to encourage the achievement of our diversity, equity and inclusion goals.

Dimension 3: Systems, Policies and Procedures

 We will position HSC to be an innovative organization with intentional inclusivity and equity by evaluating, revising and communicating HSC policies and procedures to facilitate diversity, inclusion, transparency and accountability.

Dimension 4: Learning and Scholarship

 We will demonstrate the HSC Values and Code of Culture through the pursuit of teaching, scholarship and service. Programs and processes will include intentionally designed activities that promote cultural competence and inclusivity.

Dimension 5: Community and Partnership

 We will partner with our community to equip our providers of the future to deliver culturally competent care, research and practice. We will engage reciprocally and in a participatory way with our surrounding neighborhoods, counties and state to foster the best health for all.
