What is a microcredential? 

Microcredentials at HSC verify, validate and attest that specific skills and/or competencies have been achieved and are endorsed by the institution, having been developed through rigorous processes and designed to be meaningful and high quality. They differ from traditional degrees and certificates in that they are generally offered in shorter or more flexible timespans and tend to be more narrowly focused.

Career Readiness Icons Communication

Communication 

  • Able to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in written and verbal communications. 
  • Confident in public speaking skills, able to express ideas to others, and can write/edit memos, letters, and complex reports clearly and effectively. 

Career Readiness Icons Interprofessional Teamwork

Interprofessional Teamwork 

  • Exercises sound reasoning to analyze issues, make decisions, and overcome problems. 
  • Obtains, interprets, and uses knowledge, facts, and data in this process, and may demonstrate originality and inventiveness.

How do I get started with a Career Readiness microcredential program?

Step 1: Email the Career Readiness Center at careercenter@unthsc.edu 

Step 2: We will follow up with an email outlining enrollment and expectations, and our team will guide you on completing your chosen microcredential(s).
