Research Interest:- My current research focuses primarily on the problem of infant mortality in the Fort Worth-Tarrant County area. Using a Life Course Perspective, we have created the Healthy Moms-Healthy Babies-Healthy Community Initiative through which interventions impacting several aspects of the determinants of health can be implemented using a community-based participatory approach. Aspects of this work are funded by local and national foundations. The work collaborates with leaders and residents in the African American community. We believe that it will result in the development of a health community with reduced infant mortality and models of interventions that can be used by others concerned with this problem throughout the United States.

Research Interest:-My area of expertise is health policy and health economics. Since 2002 I have been engaged in domestic tuberculosis elimination.
