|My main area of research involves prevention and harm reduction of substance use and risky sexual behaviors among adolescents and young adults. Specifically, I am interested in the role that impulsivity and self-regulation have on engaging in risky behaviors as well as ways to mitigate risks, such as by teaching individuals to use protective behavioral strategies. I am also interested in addressing the upstream social determinants of health, including conducting meaningful research that will improve substance-related policies to reduce harm.
