The knowledge and skills of biostatistics and epidemiology
are essential for many careers in public health, healthcare, and medicine.  The mission of the Department of Biostatistics
and Epidemiology is to train future health professionals who are committed to
studying the distribution and determinants of diseases and other
health-related conditions in both population and clinical settings, while
developing the methodological, analytical, and communication skills for
research design, data analysis, and interpretation of results.  The degree
programs offered by the department include MPH in Biostatistics, MPH in
Epidemiology, Joint MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, PhD in
Biostatistics, and PhD in Epidemiology.   The graduates from the
department have found employment in academia, public health departments,
research organizations, and industry.
