Message from the Interim Dean

Dear SBS Family,

I am honored to serve as the interim dean of the School of Biomedical Sciences at The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. I look forward to working with all of you as we carry forward HSC’s vision and mission to create solutions for a healthier community. 

Together we can strengthen SBS as a world-class school focused on training the next generation of the biomedical workforce and solving important health challenges through scientific discovery. I am committed to doing all that is necessary to advance that vision and elevate our position as a premier school of biomedical sciences.

As we celebrate SBS’ 30th anniversary in 2023, it’s important to emphasize the solid foundation of education, research and service created by our exceptional departments, institutes and programs. Our greatest strengths lie in our outstanding faculty, staff, students and alumni and their impact on the scientific disciplines they serve, their expansive contributions to research, and their strong willingness to teach and mentor future scientists and health care professionals. 

As we look forward, we can continue to build on that strong foundation by finding cross-disciplinary ways to innovate undergraduate and graduate education. And we can meet today’s health challenges through research that advances HSC’s commitment to whole health and improves access to health for all.
As your interim dean, I will work tirelessly to achieve our goals and elevate SBS.
