The Human Movement Performance Lab currently has various research areas actively recruiting potential participants for open studies:
Visuomotor Integration and Attention in Autism Spectrum Disorder (VMAK)

Currently Recruiting: People with 1) typical development ages 7-50, 2) Autism Spectrum Disorder ages 7-50, and 3) Developmental Coordination Disorder ages 7-17.
Summary: Multiple visits to UNTHSC (1-3 hours per visit) across a 12 month period. Initial visits for cognitive and visuomotor testing, and 3-month and 12-month follow-up visits.

How Does Vision Affect Your Balance? (RLC)

Summary: Single visit (or on-site data collection at a school, library, or other community venue) for approximately 15 minutes of visuomotor testing.

Home Exercise Program for Children with Autism (HEP)

Currently Recruiting: 1) Children age 3-7 years who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (or related, e.g., Asperger’s Syndrome)
Summary: 12-week parent-led home exercise program and motor assessment.
Parkinson’s Disease/Aging
Effects of OMT on Gait Kinematics and Postural Control in Parkinson Disease (Click here to view PROMT flyer)

Currently Recruiting: People with 1) Parkinson Disease and 2) no history of PD, who can walk independently and have no lower limb disorders, rheumatological/orthopaedic or cardiovascular disease.

A Soft Robotic System for Post-Stroke Hand Rehabilitation (REHAB Glove)
