Innovative New Master’s Degree in Lifestyle Health Sciences & Coaching

February 20, 2020 • Office of the Provost

It’s always a challenge to launch a new program but the response thus far has been fantastic with more than half of the class enrolled to date.  However, with the March 1st application deadline fast approaching, I encourage you to share this information with friends and family as you are our very best brand ambassadors.

This unique graduate program is the first in Texas to offer an intensive, blended curriculum designed to prepare students for a career in health and wellness coaching. In addition, the program includes a specialized focus on lifestyle interventions to reduce chronic disease risk as well as training in emotional intelligence, health professions communication, and interprofessional team building.

A few key highlights of our Lifestyle Health Sciences & Coaching Program include:

  • Inaugural class begins June 1, 2020
  • One-year online program that includes 36 credit hours
  • Limited to only 60 students
  • Five on-campus workshops
  • Wellcoaches Core Coach Training®

We are fortunate to have Debbie Gillespie, Interim Chair, and a fantastic team of faculty and staff in the Department of Lifestyle Health Sciences leading the development of this innovative new program in the School of Health Professions.
