UNTHSC Police Department is rolling out a new app that lets you connect instantly with UNTHSC dispatchers and police to submit crime tips or any non-emergency related tips anonymously via your smart phone. Police will be notified and dispatched accordingly upon receipt of crime tips.
My Police Department or MyPD is an iPhone and Android app that lets you easily and quickly connect with your local law enforcement or public safety agency. The public can easily connect with local law enforcement on a number of topics and also receive alert notifications straight to their device without the need to be checking Facebook or other social media for news updates from their agency. UNTHSC Police Department has partnered with MyPD in order to create the safest environment using the latest technology.

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD THE MYPD APP?
It is simple to download MyPD. Just search iOS or Android stores for MyPD, click download, choose your agency. MyPD will open from then on to your department.

Yes the app is Free to use and download. Though you should always be aware with any app of data usage if you provider charges for data use.
CAN I USE THIS APP INSTEAD OF 9-1-1
No, this app is NOT for emergency use. IF you need emergency assistance use 9-1-1 or 817-735-2600. If you need to make a non-emergency call or submit a question or tip which is not an emergency type situation then the app allows you to do so.
CAN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT CONTACT ME?
Yes, if you send your information to them on a form. If you want a response you should leave an email or phone number. Otherwise the department will not know how to contact you or be able to follow up.
