Progressive Psychiatry, P.A. is an innovative mental health practice who believes in the power of the patient-clinician interaction. We’ve built a local company that allows physicians and physician assistants to provide great patient care that is thoughtful and thorough.
You will work very closely with our Board Certified Psychiatrists as we establish new mental health treatment paradigms that minimize medication and maximize patient empowerment. Ongoing psychotherapeutic education will be provided to you as part of this role; we believe psychotherapy is core to mental wellbeing. As a direct pay practice (no contracts with insurance companies) we build creative, individualized, and patient centered treatment plans. This is a fully outpatient practice and flexible with work hours and days (your choice.)
Providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative mental health care services in accordance with established protocols and in consultation with your supervising psychiatrist.
Document clinical care using web-based electronic health record
Communicate with patients via email and telephone concerning health related questions
Willingness to become a community leader and speaker in the field of mental health, mental health parity, and restoring the bridge between mental and physical health.
Qualifications: Great sense of humor and positive energy along with a current, unrestricted State of Texas Physician Assistant license, DEA, and DPS license. The PA will be responsible for meeting CME requirements to maintain certification and licensure. New graduates are welcome as they will be integral to the success of implementing a new mental health treatment paradigm. Mental health experience is highly valued but not necessary.
