Serve as a Preceptor

UNT Health Science Center participates in various health fairs throughout the Fort Worth community. We pride ourselves on giving our students the opportunity to enhance their clinical skills while serving others. Any event in which we are providing clinical services (e.g., blood pressure readings, cholesterol testing, blood glucose testing, Hepatitis test, and first aid services) requires a “preceptor” or someone to oversee and guide the students. Preceptors must be master level health providers (e.g., registered nurse, physician, pharmacist, physician assistant). If you’d like to be added to our pool of preceptors, please complete this form.

You will be working with students from all programs at UNTHSC (i.e., TCOM, Pharmacy, School of Public Health, Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy, Med Sci, and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences) at these events. A preceptor’s roles is to oversee services provided to the community by our students, answer any questions that arise, and assist students in properly articulating results of these tests. In the case of an emergency (e.g., extremely elevated blood pressure, an alarming blood glucose reading), you will determine the severity of the case and whether to refer out or call an ambulance.
