Kassidy Heitzmann

Kassidy Heitzmann, TCOM

President-Elect

My name is Kassidy Heitzmann and I graduated from Texas A&M in 2019 with a BS in Biomedical Sciences. In undergrad, I was highly involved in sports and worked at a gym. My background encouraged me to become a physician and maybe one day enter the field of Sport Medicine. After graduating, I worked as an EMT-Basic in Houston for about a year to gain some hands-on experience before coming to medical school at UNTHSC. I am excited for the opportunity to serve as President Elect of HSC for Life this year. I look forward to getting to know students from other programs on campus and creating a collaborative environment where we can all work together toward common goals!

Kalan

Kalan Barnes, TCOM

Vice President of Marketing

Kalan is the HSC4L Vice President of Marketing for the 2019-2020 academic year. While at Texas A&M University, she fell in love with healthcare and quickly decided she wanted to pursue becoming a physician. After graduation, she worked as a medical scribe for a year learning the ins and outs of patient care. While there, she decided that getting her Master’s degree in medical sciences through The University of North Texas Health Science Center was the next step in her healthcare journey. She is now a second-year at TCOM and loving every second. Her prior experience in undergrad and on the UNTHSC campus has provided her the skills to be an excellent servant to HSC4L and dedicated representative of the One University mission. Kalan’s overall goal is to help to promote a more welcoming and unified environment for all UNTHSC students and strengthen the bond that we all share as students and faculty past, present, and future.
