Faculty Development and Training

Interprofessional Education and Practice – Provides an avenue for students in different practices to learn the importance of collaboration to deliver patient-centered health care.

Division of Academic Innovation – Provides support for faculty in online course design, curriculum development, best practices in online education, educational technology, educational media production, microcredentials, continuing education, community education, assessment services, and instructional design.  Further technical support is offered for faculty and students engaged in online and hybrid courses.

Continuing Education & Microcredentials (HSC Learning Plus) – Led by the Division of Academic Innovation. Provides faculty support for continuing education services, including consultation for CE-oriented grant submissions, avenues for disseminating published or recently completed research, conference planning and implementation, microcredentials, and opportunities to change clinical behavior and improve performance.

Research and Innovation – Offers assistance with identifying research opportunities, securing support, overseeing research projects, and ensuring policies and compliance. Areas include Laboratory Animal Medicine, Clinical Trials, Grants and Contracts, Protection of Human Subjects, Strategic Research Initiatives, and Technology Transfer and Communication.

Training and Development – Offers include professional and management development, customer service and team building, UNT Health operational training, performance evaluation and management training, supervisor and employee performance mentoring and coaching, process improvement, institutional & departmental needs assessments, and Faculty Development in classroom management, curriculum review & development.

Early Career Development Council – Provides support for the success and well-being of early-career faculty (those at the rank of Assistant Professor, Research Scientist, and Research Assistant Professor) via quarterly general meetings, writing accountability groups, activities specific to scholarship, teaching, and leadership, and social gatherings. Acts as a liaison to other university groups/offices to coordinate and disseminate information relevant to early-career faculty.

Women Faculty Network — The mission of the UNTHSC Women Faculty Network (WFN) is to support the recruitment, retention, and advancement of female faculty and to engage all faculty on issues related to the advancement of female faculty at UNTHSC.
