The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth recently named Dr. Evan Robinson, RPh, FNAP, dean of its College of Pharmacy.

Robinson will officially join the institution on Jan. 15, bringing a record of academic leadership and experience to the position.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Robinson as the new dean of our College of Pharmacy,” UNTHSC Provost Charles Taylor said. “His extensive leadership experience and dedication to student success will be key in advancing the college’s mission. We look forward to the impact he will have on our institution and the community.”

Robinson previously served as dean of the Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions from August 2019 through December 2021 before taking a sabbatical and returning to the faculty. Prior to Creighton, he was the founding dean of the Western New England University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, where he also held administrative roles, including associate provost for academic affairs. Additionally, he helped establish two new schools of pharmacy at the University of Charleston in West Virginia and Shenandoah University.

Robinson holds a B.S. in Pharmacy and an M.S. in Pharmacy Administration from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy (now the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy) and earned his Ph.D. in Pharmacy Administration from Auburn University. His outstanding contributions to the field were recognized in 2020 when he was elected as a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice.

Robinson also has written more than 60 peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters and has delivered more than 100 presentations and posters about topics that include leadership, culture, psychological safety and student success.

In addition, he is an active member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, chairing the 2022-23 student affairs committee and serving on the 2023-24 strategic engagement committee. He has held prominent leadership roles, including speaker of the house of delegates (2015-2017) and chair of the council of deans (2018-19) within AACP.

“I am thrilled and honored to be able to join the excellent faculty, staff, administration and students within the College of Pharmacy,” Robinson said. “Its reputation for excellence in teaching, research and community engagement as well as the university values drew me to the position. I look forward to great and exciting times to come.”

Robinson and his wife, Janet, have four children, Gabrielle, Ben, Nick and Tim.
