UNTHSC launches microcredential to empower change-makers in health care and life sciences

Doctor.The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, through HSC Next, is now offering a microcredential called Cultivating an Innovative Mindset in Healthcare.

Designed to equip professionals with the skills needed to drive innovation in health care and life sciences, the six-week program is available to students, alumni, industry professionals and community members seeking to make a meaningful impact.

HSC Next is a team at UNTHSC dedicated to guiding innovators and their ideas into impactful solutions for a healthier community. The team provides support through tailored programs, resources and learning opportunities.

HSC Next collaborated with international bestselling author Gary G. Schoeniger to develop the curriculum, ensuring that participants gain insights from a leading expert in entrepreneurial thinking. Schoeniger, co-author of “Who Owns the Ice House? Eight Life Lessons from an Unlikely Entrepreneur,” recently released a new book, “The Entrepreneurial Mindset Advantage,” that is expected to become another bestseller.

“We designed this program to empower health care professionals and students with the skills to think creatively, solve real-world challenges and drive meaningful change,” said Lourdes Ramboa, HSC Next senior program manager. “This is more than a credential—it’s a mindset shift that transforms the way we approach innovation in health care.”

Through this microcredential, participants will:

  • Develop an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Enhance problem-solving and innovation skills
  • Increase action and execution capabilities
  • Cultivate continuous learning and knowledge application

With the rapid evolution of the health care and life sciences industries, this program empowers individuals to navigate change, lead effectively and drive impactful solutions. Whether they are health care professionals, life sciences experts, entrepreneurs or nonprofit leaders, participants will gain the tools needed to become catalysts for transformation in their fields.
