Having a personal health care provider increases the rate of colorectal cancer screening, according to a new study by researchers at the UNT Health Science Center.

Roberto Cardarelli, DO, MPH, Primary Care Research Institute director, and Jennifer Thomas, MS, examined data on 120,221 patients and found that the likelihood of being screened tripled in patients who had at least one personal healthcare provider. Their findings were published in the Annals of Family Medicine this week.
