UNT Health Science Center faculty lend expertise to media
Harvey Brenner, PhD, professor of social and behavioral sciences, and John Fling, MD, associate professor of allergy and immunology, were both recently quoted in media articles about health.
Dr. Brenner commented on suicide rates at times of economic depression in a CNN.com article. "We ordinarily experience much, much higher rates of suicide during times of recession," he said.
Dr. Fling helped explain the high rates of cedar pollen in North Texas at this time of year in a Star-Telegram article. "When we have a north wind it decreases, but a south wind brings it in (from Central Texas)," he said.
