HSC recognized as 2024 Best Place for Working Parents®

Bp4wp BadgeThe University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth recently was recognized as a 2024 Best Place for Working Parents®, a distinction highlighting HSC’s commitment to providing comprehensive, family friendly benefits for employees.

This is the fourth year HSC has received this distinction.

“At HSC, we believe that a supportive work environment is essential for our employees’ well-being and success,” said Jeanie Foster, associate vice president of culture and experience. “Our family friendly policies are designed to help our employees balance their personal and professional lives, allowing them to thrive both at home and at work.”

The Best Place for Working Parents® is a national initiative that recognizes businesses prioritizing family friendly policies. Organizations can earn the designation through an online self-assessment that evaluates companies on the top 10 research-backed policies that support both working parents and business success.

HSC’s benefits include company-paid medical insurance for employees and partial coverage for dependents, paid time off, flexible work arrangements, onsite childcare and additional childcare assistance. HSC also offers dedicated lactation rooms to support nursing parents.

Additional employee resources include the Priority Care Clinic, which provides same-day health appointments for employees and their families, and the Employee Assistance Program, which offers support for family, legal, financial and personal concerns. The program includes up to six free counseling sessions each year.

Through the SmartDollar financial wellness program, employees and their families can gain access to tools and guidance to achieve financial goals. Since 2020, the program has helped HSC employees achieve more than $3.5 million in financial turnaround.

“Working at HSC has given me the flexibility to juggle my role as a mom and a professional without feeling like I’m compromising on either,” said Tessa Bacon, HSC Helpdesk and client services manager. “The understanding environment and resources at HSC have made it possible for me to prioritize my family while still advancing in my career.”
