Class of 2021

Who I am

I am a first-generation college graduate from Dallas and the first person in my family to go into health care. Everyone else in my family works in the restaurant business. Working in my family’s Italian restaurant, I learned how to be flexible and work under pressure. I also knew I wanted to work in a people-oriented profession, but the restaurant business was not my passion.

Why I want to be a physical therapist

I was going through a tough time and realized that movement has such an impact on mental health. Getting up and going just brightens your mood. I wanted to share that with others. I also love that physical therapists get to spend a lot of time with their patients over the course of their care.

What I love about UNTHSC

The campus is so inviting, and everyone smiles or waves at you with a warm welcome. I also love that so many people have a genuine interest in giving back to the community. I also appreciate how much student feedback is valued. I feel like my voice is heard.
