Longitudinal Faculty- Master Educator Faculty

The TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine is seeking applicants for the position of Master Educator to oversee the clinical education of medical students in the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC). The Master Educator will be assigned a group of approximately ten first-year medical students to oversee throughout their medical school curriculum. Over the four years, the Master Educator will oversee 40 students total, 10 from each class.
The Master Educator is responsible for building and fostering a positive and inclusive academic and team-based learning environment for medical students throughout the four-year curriculum. The LIC is an innovative model of clerkship education that enables students to simultaneously experience the core disciplines of clinical education in both ambulatory and inpatient settings following a panel of continuity patients. This position has collaborative oversight of the core Clerkship Coordinators. The Master Educator tracks the academic progress of each of his/her students across all specialty clerkships ensuring a comprehensive achievement of all clerkship objectives as well as identifying strengths and weaknesses in professional identity development. The Master Educator also collaborates with SOM leadership to ensure vertical integration of the curriculum across the continuum of the MD program.
Required Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree.
- Active ABMS Board Certification
- Unrestricted License to practice medicine in the State of Texas
- Must qualify for Assistant Professor or higher rank at the School of Medicine.
