Rural Medical Education

Hsc Rural Doctor Kevin Blanton

Help us improve health care for rural Texans

Medically underserved areas are places where too few medical providers exist and have high rates of health disparities. Texas has over 700 designated areas of greatest need, including rural and urban areas.

Our rural education program trains doctors to practice in areas of greatest need. HSC TCOM has the highest graduation rate of family medicine doctors in the state, making this program vital to areas with the greatest provider need.

With your support, we can train more doctors for underserved areas

The ROME program equips students with vital equipment like hand-held ultrasounds to provide care in underserved areas. With more contributions, HSC TCOM can increase the number of providers across the state. Your support will help decrease the number of people that are in need of medical care.
