Know Your Options: Creative Commons Licenses

The Office of Institutional Integrity and Awareness is partnering with the Gibson D. Lewis Library to host a lunchtime workshop focused on creative commons licenses and open access publishing. 

Oftentimes, when researchers publish their work, they determine what rights they retain when they agree to contract terms. For those interested in publishing Open Access, they are often asked to select which license they would like to publish under. Usually, a publisher will simply give out a list with no explanation of the terms of each. Understanding those licenses and the copyright terms attached will help our researchers mitigate their risk. This workshop will also be helpful to those looking for resources to educate regarding this topic.
