Dear Faculty Colleagues-
As representatives of the UNTHSC Women Faculty Network (WFN) Leadership Committee, we are excited to reach out to you with an invitation for new leadership team members.
The mission of the UNTHSC Women Faculty Network is to support the recruitment, retention, and advancement of female faculty and to engage all faculty on issues related to the advancement of women at UNTHSC. We firmly believe that diverse perspectives and experiences are essential to achieving excellence in our academic community.
The Leadership Committee plays a crucial role in driving the initiatives and activities of the WFN. Its responsibilities include:
• Encouraging the engagement of female faculty within UNTHSC.
• Identifying and addressing issues pertinent to the advancement of female faculty.
• Setting the agenda for WFN events and activities.
• Recruiting new members to the Leadership Committee.
To ensure broad representation, the Leadership Committee includes at least one representative from each school/college within UNTHSC. At this time, we are seeking members from the School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Professions, and School of Public Health.
We welcome nominations from both self and others who are passionate about the mission of the WFN. The Leadership Committee will thoroughly review all nominations and extend invitations to selected faculty members during the summer preceding the fall term, with a two-year term officially commencing on September 1, 2023.
To be considered, please send an email with a brief statement of interest and a CV to wfn@unthsc.edu and copy dana.litt@unthsc.edu and April.Wiechmann@unthsc.edu.
If you are interested in joining the Leadership Committee or have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us. We are more than happy to provide additional information or address any concerns you may have.
Best,
The WFN Leadership Committee
