Volunteers Needed for a Research Study Conducted By the Allen Lab at UNTHSC.

From the laboratory of Dr. Allen in the Microbiology, Immunology, & Genetics (MIG) department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center:

UNTHSC faculty/staff and students,

We invite you to join our research to investigate the human skin microbiome during times of self-isolation (such that of COVID19). We are looking for fifteen (15) faculty/staff and students whose laboratories or offices are in the Center for BioHealth (CBH) on either the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th floor. If you qualify to participate, you will be asked to self-swab your dominant hand and forearm as well as an object from either your laboratory or office space at different frequencies over a period of twenty-eight days. Each swab will you will collect will not take longer than five (5) minutes to complete. You will also be required to fill out a brief questionnaire over the course of the study. The questionnaire will not take longer than 5 minutes to complete for each day of sample collection. We are interested only in the bacterial DNA and not your individual DNA. You will not be compensated for your time. You must be between the ages of 18-90. To learn more please email us at either Michael.Allen@unthsc.edu or opheliakhichi@my.unthsc.edu. We look forward to hearing from you.
