HIV/AIDS Re-entry Coalition: Impact of Community Engagement on Patient Care and Research

Ank E. Nijhawan, MD, MPH, MSCS is an infectious diseases physician and Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health.

Dr. Nijhawan will discuss the HIV/AIDS Re-entry Coalition (HARC), a group she started 10 years ago. This group, which includes stakeholders focused on individuals who are incarcerated or recently released and are living with, or at risk for, HIV, helps to inform best practices around the coordination of services for this patient population and provides feedback on research projects in this area.
