Turkey and Syria Earthquake Relief Fundraiser

More than 36,000 people killed with death toll rising- we must act NOW.

Just one week ago, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck one of the most densely populated regions in the world and home to millions who have lived through over a decade of war. These people have already faced so much tragedy and were awoken to their homes collapsing in on them. The situation is truly heartbreaking.
As a community of individuals dedicated to taking care of people, we must do our part to support those who have been affected. Multiple organizations at UNTHSC have teamed up and partnered with overseas aid organizations that are saving lives RIGHT NOW on the ground in Syria and Turkey. Funds raised last week have already been sent to Kattee Foundation, Molham Team, SAMS, and to an orphanage in Syria that is taking in many of the children who are now alone in this world.

Please – donate whatever you can and as quickly as you can. It will save lives. Donations will provide life-saving medical care, meals, winter clothes and temporary shelters, as well as burials for those that did not survive.

Please Zelle Stephanie Elbanna at (682-564-2576) or Venmo @Omar-Alkhabbaz. Please simply include the word “gift” in the description so as not to flag the donation and if you would like to send a donation greater than $1000 please contact us directly to make arrangements. We can also arrange to take checks or cash. We will also have a bake sale on Feb 21st in MET Lobby from 11AM-1PM. Email stephanieelbanna@my.unthsc.edu if you have any questions. Follow us on Instagram at @unthsc_rhi for updates.

Thank you for your time and attention. We wish you safety and happiness this week and always. Together, we will do what we can to help one another through any and every hardship.
