Today, November 20th, is designated Transgender Day of Remembrance in honor of the transgender individuals who have lost their lives due to violence against the transgender community. We also remember those in the LGBTQ+ living daily with violent hands raised against them. As an integral part of the LGBTQ+ community, transgender individuals are both more susceptible to and subjected to violence that members of the non-LGBTQ+ community. Being an Ally to the LGBTQ+ community only requires you to raise your hand to oppose the violence.
