Trained patient opportunity

Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) is looking for individuals to portray a patient with a medical complaint (such as headache, chest pain, shortness of breath, or abdominal pain.) The medical students will be learning how to take a brief medical history and conduct a focused physical examination.

If you choose to participate, you will be asked to attend one training session to teach you how to portray the medical problem. The dates and times of training sessions are yet to be determined.

During class sessions, you will be interviewed by a student in a small classroom as several other students and faculty facilitators observe. When your interview and brief exam are finished, you will rotate to another room, and will be interviewed and examined by another student. There are several rooms, so you will repeat this process several times throughout each afternoon. The dates of these classes begin on August 3, 2015. All session are held on Mondays from 1:00 – 5:00.

You will receive $25 and lunch for the training sessions. You will be paid $75 for each classroom date you attend.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Laura Hopkins at (817) 735-5043 or email at Laura.Hopkins@unthsc.edu.
