The Patient Care Center (PCC), 855 Montgomery St., will be closed to all students and employees on Saturday, Sept. 24, as part of an emergency preparedness training exercise designed to simulate a threat to campus.
The exercise is designed to help safety and law enforcement personnel at the Health Science Center — and first responders with the City of Fort Worth — better prepare in the event of an emergency. UNTHSC’s Safety Office and Police Department are leading the training session in collaboration with Texas Christian University, MedStar and Fort Worth’s police and fire departments.
This is National Emergency Preparedness Month, and the exercise is part of UNTHSC’s broader effort to work with educational and public safety partners to keep our campus and community safe.
The PCC building, its parking garage and the immediate perimeter will also be closed and inaccessible that day. The rest of the campus and all other parking garages and lots will be open as usual.
Anyone on the UNTHSC campus on Saturday should expect to see uniformed police and fire personnel, first responders and role players acting as victims.
