Tomorrow: Health Care Insider Showcase: Ending HIV—Understanding the Federal Plan

All are invited to hear from Dr. Tammy R. Beckham, Director of the Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, at 4 p.m. on Nov. 7 in IREB 260.

Dr. Beckham is the lead coordinator of the U.S. government’s plan to end HIV in 10 years, and also oversees the national vaccine program. Before coming to HHS,

Dr. Beckham served as a captain in the U.S. Army, and was the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University and Director of Infectious Animal Diseases at Texas A&M University.

Her talk is particularly timely since Tarrant and Dallas counties are on the list of the 48 counties with the highest rate of new HIV infections in the United States.
