Tomorrow: All are invited to presentation by SHP Dean candidate

Nicoleta Bugnariu, PT, PhD, candidate for Dean of the School of Health Professions, will make a presentation to staff, students and faculty:

Dr. Bugnariu is currently the Interim Dean, School of Health Professions at the Health Science Center.  In this role, she is responsible for all major decisions regarding the strategic direction of the School of Health Professions, including academic program development and prioritization, accreditation, budgeting and resource allocation, as well as faculty and staff development.

Dr. Bugnariu is a Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy. Her research focuses on the underlying mechanisms controlling sensorimotor function, balance and movement in patients across the lifespan. She conducts her research in the Human Movement Performance Laboratory using human/robot interactions and virtual- reality technology, striving to develop new evidence-based rehabilitation protocols.

Dr. Bugnariu received a BSc in Physical Therapy and a PhD in Neuroscience from University of Ottawa, Canada, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University. She is the first physical therapist to complete the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine® (ELAM) at Drexel University and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA program at TCU Neely School of Business.
