Today: If you had one Last Lecture, what would you say? Dr. Moranetz to answer

Christine Moranetz, PhD, Associate Professor in the School of Public Health, will deliver "The Last Lecture," an event hosted by the Public Health Student Government Association, as she prepares to retire from UNTHSC.

The event will be 3 p.m.-4 p.m., Monday, April 24, in the MET 124-North lecture hall.

Moranetz joined the UNTHSC School of Public Health (SPH) in the spring of 2008. For almost eight years, she served as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, where she provided strategic vision, expertise and leadership in academic initiatives and curricular development strategies for the School of Public Health.

She led the establishment of the PhD in Public Health Sciences and facilitated the process for gaining approval by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in 2011. She also led the school-wide effort to create a Doctor of Public Health degree focused on practice (DrPH). In her role as Academic Dean, Moranetz guided the SPH in re-accreditation efforts, resulting in a successful self-study that yielded re-accreditation through 2022 from the Council on Education for Public Health.

As Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Public Health Education, Dr. Moranetz oversees the school-wide degree programs, including the PhD program, the DrPH and the MPH-Professional Option. Currently, Dr. Moranetz also serves as the DrPH Program Director.

The Last Lecture will be followed by a retirement reception in MET 109-111.
