The Department of Physiology and Anatomy welcomes Dr. Lauren Gonzales

The Department of Physiology and Anatomy is happy to welcome Lauren Gonzales, PhD to UNTHSC as an Assistant Professor in the Center for Anatomical Sciences. Dr. Gonzales joins UNTHSC from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine – Greenville, where she served as an Assistant Professor of Anatomy. Dr. Gonzales completed her PhD at Duke University in 2015 followed by postdoctoral training at Duke and the Florida Museum of Natural History. Her research program focuses on sensory anatomy/neuroscience with an emphasis on the functional role of the vestibular system in vision stabilization and balance. Dr. Gonzales is also an active paleontologist, leading funded excavations in both South America and East Africa.
