The Book Club returns this Fall to discuss “The Great Healthcare Disruption” by Marschall Runge, MD. In the book, he explores how artificial intelligence, Big Tech, and breakthroughs are restructuring healthcare. He considers what the future of medicine will deliver to patients and what challenges healthcare teams will encounter. Runge addresses the trade-offs of modern care models and the strain they place on current healthcare systems and then offers his perspective on the path forward.
First- and second-year TCOM students are invited to join Dr. John Licciardone, Regents Professor, as he again moderates the Book Club discussions. Interested students must submit the online form at https://www.unthsc.edu/tcombookclub by September 8, 2025 to be considered for inclusion in this Book Club selection.
Up to 15 TCOM students may be chosen to participate. A complimentary copy of the book will be provided by the TCOM Dean’s Office. Students must attend both lunch-hour sessions on campus on October 1 and October 22 to discuss the assigned portions of the book. Students may bring their own lunch to the sessions.
