Book Club readings last year involved artificial intelligence in medicine and strategies for improving American health care.
The Book Club selection for the new year is “Compassionomics: The Revolutionary Scientific Evidence That Caring Makes a Difference,” a #1 Amazon bestseller in the field of Health Care Administration, by Stephen Trzeciak, MD, MPH and Anthony Mazzarelli, MD, JD.
The book is promoted as a rigorous review of the science, coupled with captivating stories from the front lines of medicine, which demonstrates that the human connection in health care matters in astonishing ways.
TCOM students are invited to join Dr. John Licciardone, Regents Professor, as he again moderates the Book Club discussions. Interested students must submit their name by email to Samantha.Johnson@unthsc.edu by Monday, January 8, 2024 to be considered for inclusion in this Book Club selection.
Up to 15 TCOM students may be chosen to participate. A complimentary copy of the book will be provided, and students must attend three lunch-hour sessions on campus on January 17, January 31, and February 14 to discuss the assigned portions of the book. Students may bring their own lunch to the sessions.
