The 2023 door decorating contest is coming up! All the information you need to know

There will be a door decorating contest held in conjunction with the Season of Giving again this year. We loved seeing the different departments come together last year to decorate their door to ring in the holidays.

This year, there will be a team of judges that will visit each door throughout the week of Season of Giving. The winner will be announced at the Dec. 8 event.

Rules:

You must complete your door decorations and email Shea Patterson Young (Shea.PattersonYoung@unthsc.edu) with your building and office number by the close of business Dec. 5.

Only one door in each department will be judged. For example, in the Department of Public Safety (fictitious dept) there are eight different functional areas. Each functional area that falls under a cabinet member can submit one door of their choice. This means the Department of Public Safety would select which door would be entered into the Season of Giving Holiday Door Decorating contest.

Please select door that is not a fire door. To identify this, look for the fire door tag. This is found on the edge of the door with the hinges, so it’s not visible if the door is closed. It is, by code, oblong and made of metal with the rating info for that particular door etched in metal. All glass doors could be decorated.
