In the last decade, many schools in the U.S. have seen an uptick in interdisciplinary programs that combine the methodologies of the arts and humanities with the philosophies of medical practice. Though this may seem new, this relationship between medicine and the arts and humanities is historically informed. In this Grand Rounds session with The Compassionate Practice®, we will show you a peak behind the curtain of our unique spin on the medical arts and humanities, framing our unique pedagogy within the history of medicine. Participants will get to experience at least one of our exercises, and will learn more detail about how our theatre and arts-based pedagogy falls into an interdisciplinary tradition.
