TCOM GRAND ROUNDS – July 12th – High Risk Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)

High-risk PCI refers to a complex or challenging coronary intervention procedure in patients with significant heart disease or certain clinical characteristics that make the procedure riskier than normal. We will discuss tools and techniques used in the catheterization laboratory to accomplish high-risk PCI and actual cases will be presented.

 

Objectives:

• Identify which patients are candidates for high-risk PCI
• Describe the features that significantly increase
the risk of morbidity and mortality
• Review the tools and techniques that are
commonly used to accomplish high-risk PCI
