TCOM 3rd Yr. Students: NIH Research Opportunity

There is particular interest at the NIH to attract osteopathic medical students interested in expanding their research skills.

Here?s a quick summary of the NIH Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP).

This yearlong program is for rising 4th years and is designed to attract creative, research oriented medical students. You will spend a year at the NIH with an annual stipend of $34,000 plus benefits, plus living expenses (housing is provided-single apts. on the NIH campus), plus health insurance, plus moving and relocation costs.

During the year you will work on a mentored basic, clinical or translational research project under the direction of a NIH mentor located on a NIH facility in or near Bethesda Maryland that matches your research interests and goals. In addition, you will participate in clinical rounds including research subjects at the NIH Clinical Center and seminars on research and emerging technologies.

Application opens on Oct 2, 2015 and closes Jan 15, 2016. Interviews at the NIH will occur in March, 2016. Start date at the NIH will be July or August 2016.
